Bibby HydroMap are among the finalists for Mersey Maritime Innovation and SME Awards at the 2019 Industry awards

Bibby HydroMap's entry was centered on their adoption of autonomous survey technology. Being early adopters of autonomy in the survey industry and having completed such a high-profile survey - the first of its kind within an operating offshore windfarm - has put Bibby HydroMap at the forefront of the autonomous survey market.

Bibby HydroMap’s innovative approach to marine data acquisition has enabled the company to increase their fleet of survey vessels by 20% without the need to expand the company’s support infrastructure, including vessel personnel to crew and maintain the vessel. The use of innovation and new technologies provides the company with measurable cost savings, whilst increasing their capabilities and business growther overall.

Based on the Wirral, UK, Bibby HydroMap works closely with many local offshore renewables and oil and gas operators, in addition to supporting projects throughout the rest of the UK and Northern Europe.

“We are delighted to be a finalist at this year's MMIAs, particularly within the innovation category as this is at the core of our business. It is wonderful to be recognised for our contribution to introducing autonomous survey to the mainstream and with it, delivering superior cost and time efficiency benefits to our customers.”
