Advances in survey sensor resolution combined with industry leading experience and survey techniques enable Bibby HydroMap to provide high-resolution 3D point cloud images of marine assets both below and above the waterline simultaneously. The acquisition of high-resolution data both above and below the waterline enables the compilation of a BIM-compatible 3D point cloud enabling easy visualisation of assets, in essence removing the water whilst also providing a baseline to which subsequent surveys and planned remedial works can be measured and planned against.

Bibby HydroMap are able to conduct acoustic asset inspection surveys of marine infrastructure, producing BIM-compatible 3D point clouds of marine assets both above and below the waterline.
In this seminar we will review a case study where by a high-resolution survey was conducted within the confined waters of a river to image the support legs of two bridges and the surrounding river embankments. Focus will be brought on the data itself, defining the benefits and uses of the data from assessment of the structural integrity of assets and identification of damage, to using the marine data set to build up a 3D baseline model of marine assets to which subsequent surveys can be compared to and any change measured and monitored over time.
Our asset integrity surveys
Over the past 12 months, we have continued to develop our offering for above and below the waterline asset integrity surveys using both vessel mounted and remote technology.
Using a range of advanced subsea, land based and remote survey technology including the Teledyne BlueView BV5000 3D mechanical scanning sonar, we are able to provide high- resolution imagery of structures for monitoring and inspection, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional techniques.
