Eagle is a purpose built shallow drafted survey vessel which was launched in 2003.

Eagle’s hull and propulsion design enables her to dry out, making her perfect for shallow water surveys. Eagle is a heavy duty GRP, Halmatic, shallow drafted water jet propulsion catamaran with dimensions of 8.9m by 2.9m with a draft of 0.5m. The vessel has twin inboard engines which provide a fast cruising speed of over 15 knots, with the water jet propulsion enabling an extremely high level of manoeuvrability and slow speed control.

Eagle was purpose built for the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) to the highest of build and fitting standards in 2003. A well planned and laid-out workspace makes the vessel superbly suited for 12 hour survey operations around the UK coastline. The vessel’s size and weight enables road transportation around the country at relative ease, allowing for rapid response.

Safety equipment carried on board complies with the MCA code of practice for small work boats (SCV Code) and is supplemented by a full complement of immersion suits for all onboard.

The vessel has recently proven successful in providing high resolution structural inspection survey data using the Teledyne Blueview sonar, combined with laser and photogrammetry systems for complete inspection below and above the water line.
